Lily Love is available for charter, from Brighton Marina, to be sailed in the English Channel and continental waters from Brest in North West France to the river Elbe in Germany. Longer cruises can be discussed and may be provided by special arrangement. From her berth in Brighton, the pretty Normandy town of Fecamp is about 11 hours away and the busy port of Cherbourg is about 14 hours. Cherbourg is an ideal stop off point for exploring the Channel Islands which are within about 4 to 9 hours sailing from there. For skippered or bare-boat charter, on your arrival at the marina berth, you will be provided with a detailed briefing on the boat’s life saving and other equipment and safety procedures. You will also be shown an operation and safety manual which will be available on the boat. Although it is important to mention precautions and safety at this stage, we will certainly not forget that the charter is your holiday and we will try to make it as enjoyable as possible. |
Bare-boat: With bare-boat charter you will be able to sail away within the above cruising limits and arrange your own itinerary. The person acting as skipper will need appropriate experience and qualifications. We will expect to see an RYA Coastal Skipper or equivalent qualification and, preferably, a VHF radio operator’s certificate. If you do not have the sailing qualification but can demonstrate considerable experience then we may still be able to provide bare-boat charter. If in doubt, please contact us to discuss this. |

Skippered: If you do not have appropriate experience for bare-boat charter why not consider letting us provide a skipper? We can provide an experienced and friendly skipper with the RYA Yachtmaster qualification. You will be able to specify your preferred itinerary and provided that the weather conditions and time period permit he will help you to sail to your requested destinations. You will, of course, be responsible for the mooring or marina fees (typically around £15 to 25 per night) when away from Brighton. If you would like us to provide a skipper for your charter, you would be limited to 4 people in your party. The skipper uses the aft cabin and you will be able to use the two berths in the main saloon and the double berth in the forward cabin. You will be responsible for providing meals for the skipper as well as for your own consumption but he will take his turn with the cooking and washing up, as far as practicable. For skippered charter to mainland Europe we have to check that charterers have a valid passport, before we set off. The trip will be postponed if strong winds are forecast. It is in everyone’s best interest if relatively inexperienced sailors are not taken out in poor weather conditions. In our experience it is not advisable, even in good weather, to take children aged under 10 sailing for more than an hour or so, unless they are regular sailors. |
