Yacht
with zero running costs for sale!
After careful consideration I have decided to
offer Love Sailing Ltd for sale. I have
enjoyed, immensely, owning the business and the boat for the past eight years
or so. It isn’t the sort of business from which one can earn a living, at least
not in its present form; the aim as far as I was concerned was to pay
for the boat running and maintenance costs and to have some fun. Love
Sailing has certainly achieved those goals. There is also the possibility of
expanding it, I believe, by getting into yacht charter management and I have
made some tentative steps towards that but not made significant progress yet.
What is for sale is the boat and its
equipment, the web site (through which I get all the business - I don't do any
other advertising) and domain name and the good will.
The fixed equipment is all mentioned elsewhere in the web site but
includes VHF radio, GPS, a new set of sails, Eberspacher
heating, hot and cold pressurised water supply, shore power, battery charger
and Auto helm. Also included are five sets of oilskins which are used for renting
out to the charterers. The portable equipment includes everything from a high
spec life raft and life jackets (all serviced annually) down to cutlery and
pencils! The yacht is coded to Category 2 and is all ready to set sail.
Lily Love is a terrific boat. She is in very good condition and I have
been pleasantly surprised how well a charter boat can be maintained. Her
hull was epoxy coated from new. She is
the deep lead keel version and has a fully battened mainsail so she sails
extremely well.
The annual turn-over (excluding refundable
security deposits) from chartering has risen steadily since we started in
2004. In 2009 it was £12,722 and in 2010
it was £15,369. I am an engineer and, in 2011, have taken on a lot of freelance
work which is preventing me from doing so much chartering. That is the main reason that I need to sell
the business, actually. The 2011
turn-over will reflect that and will be a lot lower than the previous years.
I am asking for offers around £60,000 for the business and yacht.
Please let me know if you would like to talk
it over, have a copy of the accounts, ask any questions or would like to come
and see the boat.

Finally I must say a big thank you to all my
customers. It has been a great pleasure meeting you. I will be happy and able
to do some more chartering, on a short term basis, while the business is up for
sale.
